Keeping book clubs going strong

Like our library-led book groups, many community-based book clubs are continuing to stay connected virtually during this pandemic. To help support everyone’s love of reading and need for social connection, here are three library services (two of which are new) to help keep you and your book club both together and on top of what’s new and buzzworthy!

New! Book Club Kits

These pre-assembled bags include 10 copies of the same popular title, discussion questions curated by Oak Park librarians, and lists of similar titles to give you ideas on what to read, listen to, and watch next. Each bag can be placed on hold by an individual Oak Park cardholder, and is checked out as a single item. When your hold is ready, pickup is in the Main Library Lobby (not on the second floor, where individual item holds are now located).

New! Virtual Meeting Spaces

This new virtual service easily connects Oak Park groups who want to gather and communicate online. You set up and run your own virtual meeting with support from trained library staff.

A favorite of avid readers! Personalized recommendations

Read to Order is the name of our team of Oak Park librarians who love listening to what you’ve already enjoyed to make detailed, personalized recommendations for what’s next. This free service is open to Oak Park cardholders 18 years and older.
