Working together to keep everyone at every age safe

With the state’s June 11 move to Restore Illinois’ Phase 5 and the Village of Oak Park’s Health Department following suit, the library is making changes regarding its COVID-19 protocols. Building capacity limits have been removed. During open hours, real-time building occupancy counts continue to display in a bar at the top of this website.

Mask

Mask-wearing

Fully vaccinated for COVID-19? You’re not required to wear a mask to enter or to remain in the building.

But by wearing one, you can help keep everyone at every age more safe. Why? Because kids under age 12 cannot be vaccinated yet for COVID-19.

So please wear a mask when you are in the Main Library Children’s Services area, at the Maze Branch, and if you interact with children—either inside or at outside library events (storytimes).

And please continue to stay home if you are feeling sick.

Washing hands

Hand washing and sanitizer

Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the library, but please feel free to bring your own in case we run low!

Cleaning spray

Frequent cleaning

Our cleaning crew cleans and disinfects all high-touch surfaces each evening.

Two people 6 feet apart

Physical distancing

Following safe physical distancing guidelines of at least 6 feet continues to be best.
